Management Général/Stratégie
This case study focuses on the chess ecosystem, which has been experiencing rapid growth since 2020.
Recognized as a sport by global governing bodies, chess is experiencing positive momentum in its traditional format, which has historically been governed by sports federations. In recent years, online chess has been experiencing a real boom, of which the online chess platform Chess.com is reaping the main benefits.
After presenting the chess ecosystem and Chess.com's value proposition, the case study introduces three personas so that learners can propose solutions to the company using a design thinking logic.
- Applying key concepts and tools in strategy and entrepreneurship
- Analyzing a changing ecosystem and undertaking an external analysis
- Conducting an internal assessment based on a business model
- Proposing tailored solutions based on user needs
- Applying design thinking principles: empathy, and the desirability, feasibility, and viability of the proposed solutions
- Reflecting on improving women participation in sports and digital activities
