The Sunrise Plan: Using Political Skills for Change

HEC-S47L
Résumé
The case portrays the attempt by Hélène Marchand, the head of sales for Paris-based GlobalWyre Solutions (GWS), to convince her firms'executive committee to adopt the Sunrise Plan. If the plan is adopted, GWS is likely to become far more competitive on global markets and be able to take much greater advantage of big data. But the plan could go either way. Siding with her is Isabelle Vendôme, the founder of GWS. On the opposite side, however, is Julien Bailly, GWS' CEO, who is clearly against it. The case highlights the dynamics of organizational power and politics in global firms.
