Résumé

AI-driven solutions have enabled organizations to better advance their sustainability commitments by improving data collection, analysis and reporting, while providing end-to-end visibility into their sustainable performance. Yet, the expansion of AI infrastructures has increased the environmental footprint of organizations because it demands more energy, water, land, and other resources. As AI capabilities and sustainability commitments continue to evolve, organizations face a critical question: How should companies reconfigure their competing strategic priorities to sustain competitive advantage? Against this backdrop, this case study examines how Microsoft should navigate these strategic priorities to remain competitive over time.
