Résumé

LA CHARPENTE SAVOYARDE is a company with a 29-strong workforce and both individual and corporate customers. Its activity is focused on three sectors: its traditional focus - roof timber frames, the rapidly-expanding chalet market and product diversification. The company is divided into three main departments: Research and marketing, the workshop and Outdoor assembly. This case study is divided into three 'acts' and aims to address the following questions:
- The director wants to strengthen the Research and marketing department by hiring a new person. The ANPE (job centre) proposes three candidates, with the profile and career path of each being supplied. Which candidate has the competencies that match the job profile in question?
-The successful candidate for the post in the Research and marketing department is having difficulty settling into their job and sends a letter to the director. How is this situation to be analyzed?
-The three workshop teams are experiencing problems in how they operate. What analysis can we make of this situation and how can we remedy these operational problems? ...

Objectifs pédagogiques

1. To be able to draw up a job description and a job interview guide .
2. To understand, and appreciate the practical relevance of understanding, the differences between the concepts of competencies possessed, competencies required and competencies actually employed and the concept of potential.
3. To be familiar with the 11 dimensions of individual competence and identify the manager's priority actions.
4. To understand the three dimensions of collective competence.

Caractéristiques particulières

The case study is organized into three 'acts' forming three distinct teaching sessions. Total duration: 1 day or two half-days.
The Charpente Savoyarde case study was designed for a training module delivered by an inductive-style teaching method. This is why, for each one of the three 'acts', the trainer asks the participants to familiarize themselves with the case study, to analyze it, then to participate in a collective debriefing session and finally to take a step back in order to gain a more objective perspective with the help of the concepts.
Teaching note included as well as a debriefing document of 16 slides.
