The case discusses cross-cultural management practices and challenges at the Phuc Thang Fine furniture company based in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
The company's one thousand five hundred Vietnamese workers are primarily managed by foreign executives, thus, making cultural differences a salient part of their corporate culture and working environment.
Through interviews with the company's top management and analysis of internal documents, the case demonstrates the importance of adapting to the local culture to create and foster a more ethical and caring working environment that can in turn increase the employee engagement and minimize staff turnover.
Objectifs pédagogiques

-      Learn about some comparative cultural frameworks and how to use them when navigating different cultures in order to take advantage of cultural norms and specificities to achieve operational efficiency.
