M2059(GB)
Résumé
On September 18th, 2015, Volkswagen, the car manufacturing company, has been issued a Notice of Violation of the Clean Air Act by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This event has triggered a worldwide scandal, given the name of 'Dieselgate'. The scandal has been mainly triggered by the need to meet ever stricter government regulations imposing lower emissions and the matching growth of consumer demand for more efficient diesel.
The consequences of this scandal were catastrophic for Volkswagen in particular, and the car industry in general. Following the diesel emissions scandal, VW had to react quickly and develop a strategy in order for the company to try recovering and maintaining its position as one of the global heavyweights in the car industry.
