Résumé

This case places students in the role of a management controller facing a critical sourcing decision in a fast-growing sustainable mobility company. Through the analysis of battery supply and inventory policies, students move beyond technical calculations to understand how operational decisions shape financial performance, risk exposure and strategic positioning. The case develops their ability to apply inventory management tools, assess cost structures and evaluate trade-offs between efficiency, flexibility and working capital constraints. It also strengthens their capacity to integrate uncertainty, supplier dynamics and sustainability considerations into decision-making. By combining quantitative analysis with strategic reasoning, this case prepares students to act as business partners, supporting managerial decisions in complex, data-driven and high-growth environments.
