Résumé

In several villages of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia, families learn from an early age to live with fear.
Here, coca cultivation ensures fast income, multiple harvests per year, and relative economic stability. Yet it also exposes producers to violence, pressure from armed groups, and permanent insecurity.

Fernando understands this reality well. At 58, this agronomist has spent more than thirty years in Bogota working on agricultural development projects, rural modernization, and value-chain structuring.
